Friday 30th September, 2016
Members of the Kinley team recently had the pleasure of attending a Specifi networking event in Manchester, alongside other landscaping and architecture professionals, specifiers and contractors.
The event on 27th September was a fantastic opportunity for industry figures to showcase their innovative work and meet with others to share ideas and discuss the future of the landscape.
Guests also had the chance to hear from Dusty Gedge, urban ecologist, TV and radio figure and green infrastructure advocate. As President of the European Federation of Green Roof Associations, Gedge’s talk focused on how to take a green approach to solving the challenges that arise as the world’s biggest cities continue to grow. The presentation also gave guests an interesting insight into how we can adapt our cities to the effects of climate change that are currently spreading throughout the globe. It was an enriching talk that left the audience with a lot of food for thought.
Following the speech, guests enjoyed a great networking dinner, where landscape architecture was the main topic of discussion. It was interesting to hear from others in the industry about the projects they are working on and their different visions and creative interpretations of landscaping. Kinley also had the opportunity to discuss its latest product developments, and how they are set to change the architecture industry.
Richard McMullan, Senior Design and Technical Consultant at Kinley, comments:
“Specifi was a great platform for Kinley to network with other like-minded professionals in the architecture and landscape industry. I look forward to seeing the projects and ideas discussed during the evening start to take shape in the next few years.”
He continues:
“The talk from Dusty Gedge was a personal highlight. Green infrastructure is something everyone at Kinley is passionate about promoting and it was good to hear how the industry can take a key role in creating and maintaining the green urban landscape.”
