TERRACE SYSTEM INSTALLATION

The roof terrace is an essential part of modern development. Terraces help to increase the available space for commercial use or alfresco living, which increases the value of the plot and the appeal to the end client. This clip shows how the Kinley Terrace System is installed and showcases how some of our innovative products come together to create a dream proposition for architects and designers.

How is the Kinley Terrace System Installed?

An external flat roof area gives an opportunity to create an amazing outdoor space for people to enjoy. To start, Kinley Raaft adjustable pedestals are laid out on top of the waterproofing surafce to create a free area for drainage and services. Raaft aluminium joists are then laid out on top of the adjustable pedestals enabling a larger span between supports. This is a cost saver because less pedestals are required. How are the pedestals installed? Simple, the pedestal attachment simply twists to lock the rail on to the top. To make the installation easier, the Raaft noggin pieces clip into place which adds extra strength and keeps the framework square. The steel RoofTrays located in the side channels of the Raaft joist create a raised free-draining structural floor. Preformed steel Perimeta bespoke planter panels can then be bolted together and down to the RoofTrays. Bench seating can be incorporated simply within the planter structure. Atria porcelain tiles sit directly on the joists with spacers keeping them straight and secure. Terrafina composite decking planks laid and fixed using the twist and clamp clips into the joist. RoofTrays provide and permeable platform to enable the inclusion of a surface such as artificial grass.
