Why Kinley Aluminium Edging Sets us Apart

Stonehenge is thousands of years old, but recently dominated the news. The A303 tunnel to take passing traffic underground and free up a notorious bottleneck was controversially approved by government.

Why is this relevant to landscape design? Well, for us at Kinley, it was a reminder of the award-winning visitor centre at Stonehenge where our AluExcel aluminium landscape edging was specified on the site’s extensive pathways and car parking facilities.

With over 1.3 million annual visitors to the historic stone circle, its infrastructure needed to be extremely robust, and AluExcel edging fitted the bill perfectly! It also needed to be sustainable – so being manufactured from a minimum of 80% recycled aluminium and guaranteed longevity ticked that box too.

AluExcel is just part of the very extensive landscape edging range supplied by Kinley, and we are seeing a strong demand at the moment as a spate of major projects across the country near completion. Landscape architects and contractors have been making full use of the flexibility of aluminium edging to create beautifully designed curved thoroughfares as well as dividing flower beds and gravel paths.

Kinley's Edging is Suited for All Types of Landscape Projects

One of the funkiest of schemes to get maximum value from Kinley’s edging range was Crossrail’s roof garden at Canary Wharf station. Nearly 300 lengths of AluExcel 25mm and 65mm Flexible aluminium edging was specified for the landscaped tropical roof garden on top of the station.

The edging needed to be strong enough to withstand heavy-duty pedestrian traffic but also provide enough flexibility to fit the curved pathways in the garden.

As well as bespoke edging products, Kinley has a range of standard edging products too, suitable for dividing environments like flower beds and gravel paths. Kinley’s edging enhances any outdoor area from roof space to park areas.

Available in aluminium and steel, and in an array of heights and finishes, our edging products benefit from being strong and durable. Their low maintenance ensures additional cost benefits and the simple design and installation make them an ideal choice for surveyors, specifiers and installers.

Shape and Tend Lawn Borders with AllEdge

For domestic settings, there’s no better way to create a perfectly manicured lawn offset by beautifully shaped and tended borders, than by specifying Kinley’s AllEdge garden edging range.

Manufactured from premium aluminium, this range of garden landscaping edging is the ultimate in contemporary style. The fixings are completely concealed, and an innovative locking mechanism prevents the stakes from being pushed up by the soil.  AllEdge Lite is strong yet flexible, simple to install yourself and of course, long-lasting. We design it ourselves and distribute it from our dedicated and well-stocked warehouse in East Sussex.
